Grant funding is awarded through an application-based process in which nonprofit organizations apply annually for support. Applications are reviewed by local leadership teams and corporate representatives, helping ensure that funding decisions reflect the priorities of the communities where RYAM operates.
In 2025, RYAM contributed more than $400,000 through its foundations across the United States and Canada, supporting a broad range of organizations and initiatives.
RYAM encourages employee participation in community support through its RYAM Gives program.
This program enables employees to contribute to causes that are important to them, with company matching for eligible donations. Through RYAM Gives, employees play a direct role in supporting their communities while extending the impact of the company’s broader philanthropic efforts.

RYAM works to understand and reduce the potential environmental impacts of our operations on surrounding communities. Our facilities manage air emissions, water use and wastewater discharges, and address other locally relevant impacts such as noise through established environmental programs and continuous improvement efforts.
We also value open communication with our neighbors. When environmental concerns are raised, we take them seriously, investigate them, and respond appropriately.
