Today, we mark an extraordinary milestone as Jerome Jackson, General Mechanic III – Day (Pipefitting) at the Jesup Plant, retires after an incredible 54-year career.
Fifty-four years is more than a milestone—it reflects a lifetime of dedication, consistency, and pride in the work. Jerome has been a steady presence at the Jesup site—someone colleagues relied on, learned from, and genuinely enjoyed working alongside. His impact extends well beyond his role, reflected in the relationships he built and the respect he earned over decades.
Throughout his career, Jerome has contributed not only his expertise, but also to a culture grounded in teamwork, reliability, and doing things the right way. He has worked alongside generations of employees, helping shape an environment where, as one reflection puts it, “Out here, well, this is family.”
Moments like this remind us that a career is defined not just by years of service, but by the lasting impact made along the way—and Jerome has made a meaningful one.
While his retirement marks the end of an era at Jesup, it also comes with deep appreciation for everything he has contributed over the past five decades.
Jerome, thank you for your dedication, your leadership, and the example you’ve set. Wishing you all the best in your well-earned retirement.
