Turn On High Contrast Mode for Improved Visibility
A 70-year family tradition became a shared experience for the Temiscaming team on April 11, as employees and their families gathered at a local maple sugar bush hosted by Production Superintendent Martin Savard.
Organized and led by Martin, the event offered a rare opportunity to step outside the workplace and connect through a deeply rooted local tradition. The sugar bush—part of his wife’s family for more than seven decades—set the stage for a day centered on community, connection, and hands-on experience.
Families spent the day exploring the outdoors, checking maple sap buckets, and enjoying classic maple treats, including taffy on snow. For many, especially children, the experience brought the season to life in a way that extended beyond a typical team event.
Participants emphasized the impact of the day:
“We had such a great time. The kids absolutely loved running around outside, checking the buckets, and enjoying the maple taffy. It was a fun and memorable day.”
More than a social gathering, the event reflected the Temiscaming team’s commitment to building meaningful connections beyond daily operations—strengthening relationships that carry back into the workplace.
With strong interest in making this an annual tradition, the team is already looking ahead to building on this momentum in the years to come.
