At RYAM, we know that a clean workplace is more than just a matter of appearance — it’s a cornerstone of safety, productivity, and employee well-being. A well-maintained environment minimizes hazards, streamlines operations, and contributes to a culture where everyone feels comfortable, motivated, and proud to be part of the team.
In April, the Temiscaming plant took a major step toward elevating these values by hosting two dynamic brainstorming sessions. Union and salaried employees from across the site came together voluntarily, united by a shared goal: to create a comprehensive, site-wide Housekeeping Blitz Strategy — and to ensure its long-term success through a sustainability plan.
The energy, collaboration, and dedication shown during these sessions were truly inspiring. Dozens of great ideas emerged, reflecting both a profound understanding of our operations and a real passion for making our workplace safer, cleaner, and more efficient.

The Blitz Begins May 26
The official Housekeeping Blitz launches on May 26 — and it’s not a one-time event. This initiative will continue throughout the year, embedding new standards, habits, and a renewed sense of ownership in every department.
As milestones are achieved, everyone benefits. Whether through a safer workspace, improved morale, or a more efficient workflow, the payoff is collective. And to keep the momentum going, there will also be chances to win exciting prizes along the way!
Sustaining the Change
One of the most exciting outcomes from the April sessions was the formation of the Site Housekeeping Committee — a dedicated team of employees who are passionate about maintaining high housekeeping standards. This group will lead the charge on sustainability efforts, ensuring that the improvements we make don’t fade over time, but become a lasting part of our culture.
Their mission: to monitor progress, support teams, and champion continuous improvement as we move through the blitz and beyond.
