Jill Foster serves as Manager, Financial Reporting at RYAM, where she plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company’s accounting and financial reporting. In this role, she not only ensures compliance and precision but also continuously strengthens the systems and processes that support the business.
Jill brings a strong foundation in technical accounting and analytical thinking. She began her career at KPMG as an auditor, gaining deep experience in accounting principles and financial controls. She later transitioned into an FP&A role where she expanded her focus to research, analysis, and strategic financial insight. While she valued that experience, Jill was ready for a new challenge—one that ultimately led her to RYAM.
Since joining the company, Jill’s role has remained consistent in scope, but her impact has grown. One of the most significant evolutions in her career has been stepping into people leadership. Now leading a team, she has further developed her management, communication, and leadership skills—adding a rewarding new dimension to her professional growth.
Reflecting on her career, Jill underscores the importance of continuously building technical expertise while gaining exposure to new processes and systems. At RYAM, she has benefited from strong mentorship, particularly from David Clemens. His guidance, perspective, and regular check-ins have played an important role in her development and confidence as a leader.
When asked what advice she would offer colleagues looking to advance their careers at RYAM, Jill emphasizes curiosity and collaboration. She encourages others to get involved, offer support beyond their immediate responsibilities, and never hesitate to ask questions as a way to keep learning and expanding their skill set.
Outside of work, Jill values balance and staying active. She enjoys running as a way to recharge and clear her mind, and she loves to travel—experiences that broaden her perspective and bring fresh energy to her work.
Looking ahead, Jill is energized by what’s next. With more than a year at RYAM and a solid understanding of the processes she supports, she is focused on identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency—and on contributing to new initiatives that drive value across the organization.
