By the ”L’Empreinte” Team

L’Empreinte, a leader in premium brand printing, is proud to announce it has won the Gutenberg Trophy in the Client Marketing category for its imaginative and visually captivating work on RYAM’s “Russian Doll Boxes” campaign. This prestigious honor recognizes not only outstanding print execution but also the strategic creativity behind the use of Kallima® folding carton board.
At the core of the campaign was a set of five nested boxes—each crafted from Kallima board in varying weights and thicknesses—ingeniously echoing the design of traditional Russian Matryoshka dolls.
This innovative packaging served as a hands-on demonstration of Kallima’s core advantage: a lightweight board that delivers premium visual and structural performance while reducing material usage and shipping costs.
The concept was led by Martin Lavoie, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at RYAM, and brought to life under the creative direction of Nicolas Boissy. Every detail—from the sophisticated structural engineering to the flawless print finish—was executed in-house with exceptional precision and artistry.
Winning a Gutenberg Trophy is one of the highest accolades in the printing industry, celebrating excellence in technical craftsmanship, innovation, and visual storytelling. This achievement also underscores the quality and versatility of RYAM’s Kallima board, produced at the company’s own paper mill in Témiscaming, Quebec.
