From high-speed race cars to high-performance pulp production, Jérôme Garriga’s career has been a journey of precision, endurance, and reliability. Before joining RYAM, Jérôme spent years in endurance motorsport—including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans—where he specialized in developing and maintaining competition cars. Racing taught him focus, optimization, and teamwork—skills he applies in his role today.
Now part of RYAM’s Manufacturing Excellence Team (MET) in Maintenance & Reliability, Jérôme plays a strategic role in strengthening the long-term performance of our sites. His work supports RYAM’s Roadmap 2025, with initiatives designed to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Recent projects include the migration of maintenance management systems to SAP, the digitalization of inspection rounds at Tartas, and the rollout of a group-wide vibration analysis platform (KCF) to better predict and prevent equipment issues.

For Jérôme, every day brings both challenges and opportunities. “Reliability work is about learning continuously and taking concrete actions to ensure the availability and performance of our production tools,” he explains. He values the collaborative spirit at RYAM, where teams across sites and countries share knowledge to drive improvement together.
What motivates him most is the trust RYAM placed in him when inviting him to join the MET team. It confirmed his passion for solving complex technical challenges while contributing to the long-term sustainability of operations. His advice for those starting in R&D: “Perseverance is key. Build strong foundations, and you’ll be ready to tackle more complex challenges.”
And when he’s not developing maintenance strategies, Jérôme keeps his passion for cars alive through endurance racing and vehicle restoration.
A true engineer at heart—whether on the track or in the mill—he continues to push the limits of performance.
