President and CEO De Lyle Bloomquist is pleased to announce that the Power Boiler MACT Compliance Team was the recipient of the 2024 RYAM President’s Award, the company’s highest honor.
This award recognizes individuals and/or teams for modeling RYAM’s values while delivering exceptional contributions that significantly impact business units, corporate objectives, and initiatives.
Senior leaders submit nominations for the award based on recommendations from their employees, which are then reviewed by the RYAM Award.
TEAM PROJECT SUMMARY
The Power Boiler MACT Compliance Team delivered a highly innovative, cost-effective solution that ensured RYAM’s compliance with stringent new environmental regulations—achieving a 77% reduction in particulate emissions for just $2.32 million, compared to an initially projected $15–20 million.
Through a phased, engineering-driven approach, the team prioritized sustainability, protected community air quality, and avoided a major shutdown. By challenging conventional solutions, they modeled integrity and operational excellence while delivering measurable results under regulatory pressure.
Their work reinforces RYAM’s commitment to responsible manufacturing, environmental stewardship, and creative problem-solving.
