Transitioning from full-time to part-time work was one of the most thoughtful (and, admittedly, nerve-racking) career decisions I’ve made. After years of building momentum in my role and climbing the corporate ladder, I wasn’t sure how stepping back would feel. But thanks to the incredible support and understanding from RYAM’s leadership team, the shift has been not only seamless—but deeply rewarding.
The added time with my children has given me perspective, joy, and, yes, a whole new appreciation for time management. Working part-time means being intentional with every hour, and multitasking has become a finely tuned art form. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue growing professionally while being present for life’s most important moments.
That said, I know this kind of flexible arrangement isn’t possible for everyone—nor do all roles or business needs allow for part-time or alternative schedules. I’m fortunate to be in a position where this balance is supported, and I deeply respect the dedication of my colleagues across RYAM who navigate their own unique challenges every day. Our company’s commitment to exploring ways to support employees in all types of roles makes me proud to be part of this team.
