On May 27, the Fernandina Beach Fire Department’s Special Operations Team—accompanied by Fire Chief Holmes and Deputy Chief Murallo—gathered at RYAM’s Emergency Response Building to receive a vital donation of specialized safety gear.
The equipment package, which includes helmets, gloves, carabiners, ascenders, and other essential tools, is designed to significantly enhance firefighter safety and efficiency during high-risk emergency operations. This generous contribution underscores a shared commitment to safeguarding both first responders and the community they serve.
“This equipment is a critical investment in readiness,” said Chief Holmes. “It ensures our team is better prepared and protected in the most challenging situations.”
The Fernandina Beach Fire Department extended sincere thanks to Leah Greene and Wayne Peterson from RYAM’s Safety Department, as well as RYAM’s senior leadership, for their steadfast partnership and support.
With this donation, RYAM once again affirms its role as a trusted partner in public safety—demonstrating that strong community collaboration truly saves lives.
