RYAM expanded its greenhouse gas (GHG) disclosures to include Scope 3, or value chain emissions, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to transparency and sustainable energy management.
Key actions include:
Screening our value chain: Conducted a comprehensive Scope 3 assessment to determine which of the 15 categories were relevant; six were identified as material.
Quantifying emissions: Used an estimation module developed by the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) to calculate Scope 3 emissions.
Verifying results: Engaged a third party to provide limited assurance of our Scope 1, 2, and selected Scope 3 emissions in alignment with ISO 14064-3, the World Resources Institute GHG Protocol, and the Climate Registry GHG Protocol.
We will continue to track, verify, and publicly report our full GHG inventory each year as part of RYAM’s commitment to continuous improvement and climate leadership.
