Key Metric:
10% decrease in Total Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions from 2023 to 2024
In 2021, RYAM formally announced our goal of reducing our overall Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% (aggregated) on both an absolute and intensity basis by 2030, using 2020 emissions calculations as a baseline. As of 2024, we are on track to meet this target, having achieved a 29.2% decrease in absolute emissions and a 22.4% reduction in emissions intensity since 2020.
This progress is a result of the continued implementation of strategic capital projects across our operations, which were chosen not only for their financial benefits, but also for their predicted effectiveness in contributing to our emissions.
RYAM has achieved a 29.2% decrease in absolute emissions and a 22.4% reduction in emissions intensity from our baseline.
Chart assumes a 5% reduction annually to achieve company’s 2030 reduction goal. This graph presents RYAM’S Scope 2 Market-Based Emissions for 2024
